Forum / Panel Discussion regarding the Board of Nominators
between past and current members for members recently elected
Chaired by VAT President, Stuart Soley, the members of the panel included
Michael Dowling, Muriel Porter, David Powys, Colin Reilly and Peter Sherlock.
The structure of deliberations, strategy for the Board, the nuts and bolts,
timelines and practicalities, the number of meetings,
the importance of confidentiality and the feeling of isolation it can engender.
Archbishop Freier’s staff laying up will be no later than 9 February 2025,
so the time for preparation and planning is short.
This was not a forum to discuss who the next Archbishop should be,
rather an opportunity for those who have previously served on a
Board of Nominators to discuss the processes with those who have recently been elected,
plus their friends and supporters.
Notes from the meeting are available here.
